As a Senior Director of Business Development, you will focus on marketing and relationship building with the community and our Heavy Industrial and Generation customers.

Responsibilities:
- Support Riggs Distler’s growth objectives by utilizing the strategic business plans developed by the Business Unit Leaders to identify target customers and opportunities with the highest go/get rates
- Identify the decision makers (operations, executive, supply chain) within the client organization
- Research and build relationships with new clients and attends bid meetings
- Work with internal multifunctional team (operations, business development, finance, legal, etc.) to develop proposals that address the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives
- Present new products and services that enhance existing client relationships
- Arrange and participate in internal and external business reviews
- Attend industry functions, association events, and conferences
- Provide feedback and information on market trends to mid and senior level management to develop new services, products, and distribution channels
- Identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators
- Ensure that data is accurately entered and managed within the company’s CRM solution and other sales management systems
- Work with the corporate business development team to ensure prerequisites, RFI, RFP, etc. (such as pre-qualification or getting on a vendor list) are fulfilled within a timely manner
- Other duties as requested by leadership
Education, Skills, Experience Needed:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field required
- Minimum 15 years of demonstrated experience in the Heavy Industrial and Generation Industry
- Demonstrated experience dealing with union construction and the associated project dynamics
- Collaborative, self-starter with industry relationships
- Excellent people skills and ability to engage at the executive level
- Strong negotiation skills and can develop business strategies and agreements, reconciling differences to arrive at mutually beneficial solutions
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability and willingness to travel as needed
