CARPENTRY SUPERINTENDENT

As a Carpentry Superintendent, you will oversee the day-to-day operations on a major heavy industrial construction project.  You will lead and manage the on-site construction team, ensure adherence to schedule and budget, secure necessary materials and equipment to make certain project deadlines are met.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily workflow, while maintaining a safe environment
  • Create and follow the projects schedule and budget
  • Maintain project execution in a correct and timely manner
  • Hire mechanics to perform defined work
  • Manage the on-site construction team
  • May act as an employee review board member
  • Meet operational standards by contributing construction information to strategic plans and reviews
  • Direct labor and subcontractors

 

Education, Skills, Experience Needed:

  • A Degree in construction management or equivalent training
  • 10 to 15 years of direct experience in a leadership role
  • Industry equivalent certifications in HSE, Mechanical, Electrical, and logistic disciplines
  • Knowledge of Carpentry, reinforcing steel, concrete and rigging applications in accordance with regulatory body requirements
  • Valid licenses or equal certifications in disciple area such as electrical or mechanical
  • Ability to work on a TWIC required job site
  • Understands Project Labor Agreement terms
  • Has strong attention to detail to be able to read and understand specifications, schedules, and procedures
