CONSTRUCTION MANAGER- HEAVY INDUSTRIAL CONSTRUCTION

As a Construction Manager, you will be the main point of contact for a major project and oversee all aspects of the project in a timely and cost-effective manner.  You will be responsible for all union labor on project and involved in budgeting, organization, implementation, and scheduling for a major industrial.  The scope of work includes mechanical, electrical, civil and logistics for a major Off-Shore Wind Project in Maryland.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage direct hire union employees and subcontractor employees
  • Responsible for all aspects of progress and construction
  • Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs
  • Oversee all onsite and offsite construction to monitor compliance with customer specifications and safety regulations
  • Request and monitor tools, materials and equipment and track inventory
  • Meet contractual conditions of performance
  • Review work in progress and daily reports
  • Prepare internal and external reports as necessary pertaining to job status
  • Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging issues
  • Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction technique

Education, Skills, Experience Needed:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Construction Management
  • Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods; Excellent written and verbal communication skill, ability to negotiate key business strategies, contracts and agreements; Solid time management and organizational skills; Ability to see the “big picture”
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent leadership skills, ability to connect with workers and create a strong team
