SR. PROJECT MANAGER – HEAVY INDUSTRIAL

As a Sr. Project Manager you will oversee all aspect of the project, reporting directly to the Vice President of OSW. Your responsibilities will include all aspects of project management, including safety, quality, customer relationship and P&L.  The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with EPC and Heavy Industrial projects.  This position will support projects in Rhode Island and New York.  Significant travel in the Northeast will be required.

Responsibilities:

  • Reviews, edits, or prepares final Project Scopes, including material pricing, supplier and subcontractor selection, construction equipment and facilities, in coordination with the Project Management team, and in line with customer specifications and company financial goals.
  • Develops project execution plans, and oversees project planning meetings, execution plans, and resource-loaded scheduling to ensure each project is understood and remains within established specifications, timelines, and budget.
  • Leads on site visits, including audits, review of safety procedures, customer meetings and process updates to manage and meet customer project budget expectations.
  • Provides continual client updates and reporting to ensure all customer expectations and business goals are achieved.
  • Manages, oversees and mentors Assistant PMs and PMs to help them continually develop in the role and to support the growth of the team.
  • Acts as the “Go To” on complex obstacles for collaborative and effective resolution.
  • Tracks project goals, timelines and budgets on a continual basis to ensure projects stay on track.
  • Researches, analyses, and gathers information that will enhance current processes and procedures.
  • Oversees and ensures project documents, contracts, change orders, samples, etc. are kept for a clear history of the project.

 

Education, Skills & Experience Needed:

Educations:  Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.  Will accept equivalent combination of education and experience.  PMP or equivalent project management certificates a plus.

Skills:  Strength in researching, analysis, planning, project management, and processes; strong organizational and time management skills; ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail and excellent follow through to ensure successful projects every time.  Strong decision-making skills.  Ability to read drawings and perform construction take-offs; proficiency in change order pricing; solid knowledge of estimating, construction, design, finance, and project management; ability to manage large, complex projects and obstacles effectively, creating process along the way.  Excellent problem-solving skills.  Strong leadership skills, ability to work with customer and employees at all levels of the organization.  Must be safety and compliance minded.

Excellent MS Office, with construction management software skills; Primavera experience preferred.

Experience: 15 years + experience managing major lump sum projects, 100 M +.  Must have extensive experience with Heavy Industrial and EPC projects.
