As the Tool Room Manager, you will coordinate, prioritize, manage and oversee the processes related to the acquisition and distribution of equipment according to project schedules, ensuring alignment to customer and business needs. The salary range is $28.00/hr – $40.00/hr.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages and leads the day-to-day activities of the Tool Room, ensuring efficient, legal and safe distribution and operation of tools at job sites
  • Consults with Project Managers on project schedules to ensure required tools are available, compliant and distributed to the job site on-time and within budget
  • Problem-solves equipment issues and implements corrective actions quickly to minimize down-time at job sites
  • Manages tool purchases and rentals, with a focus on maximizing availability and minimizing costs
  • Monitors tool room spending to ensure costs remain in line with budgetary goals.
  • Conducts quality inspections of all incoming and outgoing tools to ensure compliance with Company, State, Federal and Local regulations
  • Manages, coaches, mentors and leads the Tool Room to drive focus on customer satisfaction and business goals
  • Coordinates routine maintenance of tools to ensure optimal performance and efficiency

Education, Skills, Experience Needed:

  • High School or GED required
  • Minimum of 2 years of management experience in the construction industry
  • Valid Driver’s License. Forklift Certified.
  • Excellent forward-thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills required; Excellent problem-solving, follow-up, and good time management skills; excellent with math and analyzing large amounts of complex data
  • Solid MS Office skills required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to present to others; will work with all levels both inside and outside the organization
  • Excellent ability to take initiative and meet deadlines; self-directed and independently motivated; customer and compliance focused; flexible and adaptable to change; collaborative approach to teamwork and able to coordinate with various leaders and business units; safety-minded. Ability to train and mentor others.
  • This role frequently uses basic hand tools and other equipment to operate and/or perform maintenance and/or repairs on equipment
  • This role routinely operates heavy equipment, machinery or general facility equipment, including driving a forklift
