Underground Storm Water and Firewater Pipe Installation—Pennsylvania
Riggs Distler installed storm drainage and fire protection piping in support of our client’s industrial facility expansion. Our work included:
- Erosion control
- Site survey and layout
- Exploratory excavation and utility locating
- Fire water, oily water, and potable water piping
- Pressurized storm sewer piping
With more than 4,000 workers on-site at the peak of construction, Riggs Distler needed to carefully plan our work in coordination with several other contractors and trades to meet the project’s aggressive schedule. Our 100-person team worked throughout the active industrial area, and additional safety, supervisory, and administrative staff were brought on to ensure safe and efficient execution at every stage.
Riggs Distler delivered all necessary heavy civil work according to the client’s schedule to enable the industrial complex to expand as planned. Foundations were completed in time to meet scheduled equipment deliveries, and with our extra attention to safety and quality oversight, there were zero injuries over the course of the project. When workload and safety concerns required, we were able to quickly mobilize employees to increase our work force from 25 to 100. As a result of our performance, the client subsequently contracted Riggs Distler to perform additional excavation and backfill for underground electrical infrastructure at the facility.
