Major Offshore Wind Projects

South Fork Wind

As the first U.S.-based Tier 1 contractor awarded for secondary steel fabrication, Riggs Distler played a critical role in developing South Fork Wind, a 132 MW project providing clean energy to over 70,000 New York homes. Our efforts at the Port of Providence, RI set a precedent for utilizing American labor and resources, reinforcing the importance of a domestic offshore wind supply chain.

Revolution Wind

For this 704 MW Revolution Wind project, Riggs Distler constructed foundation components for 65 offshore wind turbines. Supplying clean energy to Rhode Island and Connecticut, this project supports over 350,000 homes while reducing approximately 1.2 million tons of carbon emissions annually.

Sunrise Wind

Set to be New York’s largest offshore wind farm at 924 MW, Sunrise Wind will power nearly 600,000 homes. Riggs Distler is fabricating and assembling secondary steel components, making it the first U.S. project to claim a fully domestic supply chain for major Advanced Foundation Components.

Cardiff Substation Expansion

Beyond offshore installations, Riggs Distler is instrumental in integrating offshore wind power into regional grids. The Cardiff Substation Expansion supports Atlantic Shores Offshore Wind’s Project 1, delivering 1,510 MW of clean energy to New Jersey, reinforcing energy infrastructure resilience and efficiency.

Turnkey Power Construction in Rhode Island

Riggs Distler’s comprehensive approach to infrastructure development extends to transmission and substation enhancements. Our work in Rhode Island includes reconstructing a 13.5-mile, 115 kV energized transmission line and upgrading four substations, ensuring seamless clean energy distribution.
