Located in Massachusetts

  • Capability
    • Electric Infrastructure
  • Completion 2015–2018

Project Overview

From 2015 to 2018, we were contracted to reconductor approximately 20 miles of 13kV and 23kV circuits and replace over 500 wooden utility poles for an electric utility operating in Massachusetts. Our team also provided circuit load relief by adding two new substation feeders and upgrading seven existing electrical facilities.

Key Highlights

All work was completed according to the client’s schedule and deadlines with a 26-person field crew.

Challenges and Results

Challenges included the need for careful coordination to complete work between different circuits during planned outages, as well as working on energized lines. By using hot sticks to complete work on the energized lines, we accomplished our goal of minimizing impacts to end users.

As a result, our work allowed our client to meet an increased demand for power, supporting customer growth and the development of new businesses in the area. Each phase of this contract was completed on schedule, under budget, and without incident.
