In addition to securing three national NECA awards this year, Riggs Distler is thrilled to have also earned three Penn-Del-Jersey Chapter NECA Awards.
The Project Excellence Awards recognize Penn-Del-Jersey NECA Chapter Member Contractors for their outstanding dedication, professionalism, and ingenuity in delivering exceptional projects.
Riggs Distler is honored to have won in the following categories:
Award-Winning Projects
Civic Substation Distribution Switchgear Project (Category: Substation/Interconnection)
Riggs Distler played a pivotal role in the successful construction of the new switchgear building at the Civic Substation Facility in Philadelphia, PA. Our team expertly handled the installation of all below and above-grade conduit, raceways, and duct banks, along with grounding systems and electrical components, both inside and outside the building.
Despite the significant challenges posed by the site’s location and the project’s tight timeline, our team delivered a state-of-the-art facility. As the second primary GIS building on our customer’s system, the Civic GIS building, supported by the new switchgear installation, marks a critical step forward in enhancing the reliability of Philadelphia’s power supply. The new 220kV ring bus that this project supports will ensure a more robust and dependable energy infrastructure for the city.
New Residential Construction Group (Category: Residential)
Riggs Distler is the exclusive contractor for infrastructure installation in established neighborhoods as well as new residential homes within our client’s service area. Our New Residential Construction (NRCG) team, which has secured this contract three times since 2014, is tasked with installing electric facilities for individual homes in established neighborhoods and larger developments ranging from 5 to 500 new homes.
Our work encompasses all cabling (primary and secondary), equipment installation (transformers, splice boxes, etc.), and related meter and pole work.
By prioritizing communication, Riggs Distler consistently meets builder deadlines and ensures on-target homeowner settlement dates. The host utility has received numerous commendations from customers, praising the quality, safety, and professionalism of our crews.
KTC Phase II Electrical Design (Category: Industrial)
The KTC Phase 2 Electrical Design project involved the relocation of a 15kV underground distribution system at the Keystone Trade Center in Falls Township, PA. This project was conducted for our client at a site previously used by US Steel, which presented numerous challenges. Despite these hurdles, the Riggs team successfully met all milestones and completion dates, demonstrating our commitment to quality and efficiency. This turnkey project encompassed Overhead Distribution, Utility Civil, Electrical, and Horizontal Directional Drilling – all under one hat.
We are extremely proud of the innovation, precision, and teamwork that made these projects a success. Congratulations to our Industrial Electric, NRCG, and Substation teams!
