NECA Penn-Del-Jersey Chapter Recognizes Riggs Distler as a Top Electrical Contractor

The NECA Penn-Del-Jersey Chapter Project Excellence Awards program highlights the best electrical contractors in the region. Riggs Distler won the award for Electric Distribution Residential Infrastructure work done in 2018.

Riggs Distler served as the sole contractor for infrastructure installation for new residential communities in our host utility service territory. Our team was responsible for installing electric facilities to single homes in established residential neighborhoods, as well as in larger developments that ranged in size from 5-500 new homes.Our scope of work included all cabling (primary and secondary), equipment installation (transformers, splice boxes, etc.), and associated meter and pole work.

We completed the following work in 2018:

• 3,000 electric residential services installed
• 500,000’ cable installed
• 4,000 electric meters set
• 500 pole risers installed
• 1,500 pieces of equipment set (transformers, etc.)

Our host utility’s tariff allowed for builder excavation. Therefore, Riggs Distler worked closely with developers and their excavation subcontractors to coordinate schedules. The builders are responsible for excavation for the utilities prior to our crew arriving at the job site.  The excavations must meet the host utilities’ standards and it is Riggs Distler’s responsibility to ensure trenches and facility installations meet those standards. Therefore, any last-minute scheduling conflict can necessitate a fast reorganization of resources and schedules to continue to allow crews to be productive.

By collaborating closely with all parties involved, Riggs Distler was able to forecast potential issues before they become problems. We’ve built an excellent working relationship with our client and builder/developer partners based on trust and mutual respect to ensure on-time completion.

Through our commitment to communication, Riggs Distler has consistently met builder deadlines and kept homeowner settlement dates on target. The host utility has shared with Riggs Distler numerous complimentary correspondence received from customers regarding the quality, safety, and professionalism of our crews.
