Riggs Distler Gives Back

Posted on October 21, 2020 in News
Riggs Distler’s Helping Hands supported St. Jude for the second year in a row this September through the Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer. This year, to strengthen our commitment to this cause, we signed up to be a local sponsor and a multi-market team after our first year’s successful fundraising efforts. (Learn more about our first year supporting St. Jude here.)
St. Jude is a free treatment center for families, providing treatment, travel, housing and food so families can focus on their child. The daily operating cost of St. Jude is $2.2 million; approximately 75% of those costs are covered by public donations collected through events like the Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer.
Riggs Distler’s Helping Hands is a volunteer, 100% employee run group who are passionate about collaborating, empowering and inspiring Riggs Distler employees to give back and better the communities we serve. As a company, Riggs Distler pledged to donate $15K in matching donations raised by the Helping Hands team.
With Nicole Hellings and Kasey Borusewicz leading the charge both for Riggs Distler’s Helping Hands and as co-chairs of the Philadelphia St. Jude Walk/Run Fundraising Committee, we raised $43,262 dollars. The amount we raised this year is almost three times the amount our team raised in 2019 for the Philadelphia Walk/Run. Riggs Distler registered as a multi-market team this year to allow all of our employees in our various locations to participate in the virtual walk. Our Walk/Run team was supported by and received contributions from some of our corporate vendors (Global Rental Co., Diamond Tool, United Rentals, Graybar & Sunbelt), employees, their friends and families.
Donations are still being collected until 12/31/2020, please consider making a contribution to help end childhood cancer.
