Riggs Distler employees attended the Oceantic Network’s Ventus Awards on Thursday, November 9th in Boston, Massachusetts. During the event, our team was honored to win the Health Safety & Environment Program of the Year Award. This award recognizes an organization’s successful implementation of policies and/or training programs for offshore wind.

“The offshore wind industry must develop a highly skilled, trained and, most importantly, safe workforce to succeed,” said Liz Burdock, President, and CEO of Oceantic Network. “Riggs Distler’s work on the South Fork Wind project serves as an example of this workforce development. Through the tracking of key performance indicators for safety and environmental impact, their work ensured the project progressed quickly while avoiding dangers to workers and local marine ecosystems.”

“Winning this award is a testament to Riggs Distler’s dedication to maintaining the highest standards, protecting our environment, and ensuring the well-being of our workers. Over the last two years, significant effort has been dedicated to preparing our workforce of over 150 union employees to safely assemble advanced foundation components in Providence, Rhode Island”, said RDC President & CEO Stephen Zemaitatis Jr.

Earlier this year, we achieved an industry milestone by turning over the first ever Advanced Foundation Components assembled in the United States of this scale. Our successful implementation of comprehensive safety policies and innovative training programs demonstrates our dedication to our workforce, environmental protection, and to setting a high standard for others in the industry to follow as evidenced by our completed work on the South Fork Wind Project and continued work on other on-going projects.
